Jemele Hill Suspended by ESPN After 2nd Violation of Social Media Policy

It was just a little over a week ago that ESPN SC-6 co-host, Jemele Hill, found herself in hot water because of direct assessment of Donald Trump (who I refuse to address as president from this point moving forward). Hill basically said that Trump is a bigot and a racist, which can be substantiated easily; however, it obviously drew the ire of the only President to respond to social media criticism.

While Hill was not severe disciplined, she was warned to tone down her rhetoric on her social media account. Well, it did not take long for Hill to violate the order issued by ESPN. When Dallas Cowboys’ owner, Jerry Jones blatantly denied his players the right to protest, Hill immediately took to her Twitter account and suggest that fans not only boycott the Cowboys but that they also boycott the team’s advertisers, which was great advice.

ESPN responded by suspending her. The backstory to this is of significance. Jemele’s co-host, Michael Smith has refused to work while she is on suspension, which is huge. Michael and Jemele host the #1 rated show on the network, and with both of them sitting out, it may be ESPN that loses on this one.

What I would love to see is Blacks having a viable platform on which Jemele can land if she loses her spot at ESPN without having to appeal to another White-ran media outlet. This would be GROWTH!
